Job description

We are looking for an experienced GI Medical Biller with expertise in GI billing, pathology, anesthesia, and surgical facility billing for our client, a rapidly growing GI private practice with multiple locations across NYC. The ideal candidate must have prior experience in a private practice setting and a strong understanding of insurance claims, coding, and reimbursement processes. Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full-cycle billing process for GI procedures, pathology, anesthesia, and surgical facility services.

  • Submit, track, and follow up on insurance claims to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement.

  • Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits before services are rendered.

  • Review and resolve claim denials and billing discrepancies.

  • Ensure compliance with CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding for gastroenterology services.

  • Stay updated on payer policies, including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance requirements.

  • Work closely with physicians, office staff, and insurance providers to streamline billing operations.

Job requirements

  • Experience in a private practice setting is required.

  • Strong knowledge of GI billing, pathology billing, anesthesia billing, and surgical facility billing.

  • Proficiency in medical coding and billing software.

  • Familiarity with insurance guidelines and reimbursement processes.

  • Ability to troubleshoot claim denials and maximize revenue cycle efficiency.

  • Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.

Work Location & Schedule:

  • On-site work in Brooklyn, NY, is preferred (EST time zone).
