Job description

We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper for a leading New York State law firm with offices across the tri-state area. This is an ideal role for an organized, detail-driven accounting professional who can manage core financial operations and contribute to a collaborative, client-focused culture. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle AR/AP, including credit card reconciliation and vendor payments.

  • Prepare and reconcile monthly financial statements, journal entries, and account adjustments related to loans, taxes, 401(k) deductions, and bank fees.

  • Oversee the monthly accounting close process and generate cash flow projections to support financial planning.

  • Track and file quarterly sales tax payments; prepare subcontractor 1099s and ensure compliance with year-end IRS requirements.

  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records, including business licenses, gross receipts, and supporting documentation for audits.


Job requirements

Job Requirements

  • 2+ years of bookkeeping or relevant accounting experience

  • Proficient with Quickbooks and general accounting databases

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience with account analysis, reconciliation, and general ledger processes
